Join Women’s History Oxford for an evening of collaborative zine-making to celebrate International Women’s Day! Using the research gathered at our Learning Extravaganza in October, we’ll be looking at presenting our findings about current and historical women’s spaces in Oxford in visually interesting ways.
Materials:
We’ll be getting creative with scissors and glue sticks, so feel free to bring along any collage material you have knocking about at home. Old books, magazines and fabric scraps are particularly useful.
Food:
Please bring along some vegetarian/vegan food to share as we’ll be meeting around dinner time.
Who can come?
Open to all, No previous experience required. £2 per person to cover room hire and materials. Please book via Eventbrite.
What’s a zine?
A zine (/ziːn/ ZEEN; short for magazine or fanzine) is most commonly a small-circulation self-published work of original or appropriated texts and images, usually reproduced via photocopier. Usually zines are the product of a single person, or of a very small group. (Wikipedia)
