WORKING CLASS RAGE submission deadline is now firmly the end of June. I first posted about this in 2020, but it's been a heck of a 2 years right?

I've got some great submissions so far, but would love some on the following: cultural depictions of working class anger, how does the world treat working class rage? Do you hide or express it? And examinations of working class violence.

It's been so encouraging seeing how much people ar

It's been so encouraging seeing how much people are taking part and talking about the Etsy Strike.

Relationships with big tech companies and labour are so much more complicated than traditional employer/employee structures that we're used to seeing strikes happen in. Lots of sellers cannot afford to strike as it's their main income source, and many taking part will be taking a financial hit. There isn't a union or funds to help support that.

If you can, take time to see how you can support Etsy sellers that are strike, away from Etsy. Whether that's following them on social media, sharing their work, buying something through their other channels. Are you on strike? Comment or DM how people can support your work + I'll give it a share.

I'm taking part on the Etsy Strike this week. You can still buy from me via my own website (which is always my preference. Before buying on etsy always check if that maker has their own site!)

Etsy has been raising fees, allowing non-handmade / dropshipping / resellers sellers to thrive, whilst making record profits. Small handmade makers have built Etsy - many are women, many on low incomes. In return Etsy exploits those who have come to rely on the platform.
