November 17th is officially the 10th birthday of Pen Fight! To celebration I’ll be throwing a birthday party (you’re all welcome) and putting together a birthday zine (and need contributors). All the details below.

I’ll be throwing a little party on November 15th (two days before the *official* birthday) as part of a wider celebration of zines and DIY culture organised by Kirsty Fife at Manchester Met Uni. Information Lives in DIY Culture is taking place 9:30am – 4pm. Tickets for the full event are sold out, but you’re still welcome to come along to Pen Fight’s party without one.
As part of the party there will be:
- The launch of the birthday zine (below)
- Zinester speed friending – places are limited so make sure to book a free ticket!
- Drop in badge making
- A pop-up library from Salford Zine Library.
- And other surprises and goodies!
10 years of Pen Fight birthday zine!
Call for contributions – entries needed in any medium to celebrate 10 years of Pen Fight. Some ideas:
- Thoughts, art & essays about the zine scene over the past 10 years.
- Anything from people whose work has been stocked by Pen Fight. Let me know if you’d like me to send you some interview questions!
- Artwork themed on zines, pencils, scissors, glue, staplers, typewriters (& similar) ✏️✂️
- Pen Fight memories, stories, fave zines, fan art? 🥹
All contributors will get a free copy of the zine & a birthday goodie bag. Deadline is Nov 1st EXTENDED to Nov 9th / email entries to penfightdistro@gmail.com
