“With film you’re in and you’re out and you go on with your life. TV is like a long relationship that ends abruptly or wistfully. One way or another, TV will break your heart.” – David Bordwell
It’s time to put all those hours spent watching Netflix to good use. We know you’ve got ~strong feelings~ about TV shows – so do we. Come and gather with other TVphiles and get those feelings out of your head and into a zine!!
Some potential zine titles to get you inspired:
-why’d they cancel Firefly??
-an ode to the sassy commentator on Come Dine With Me
-the impeccable morality of Captain Jean Luc Picard
-Loving Love Island
We offer many free events throughout the year, but we rely on donations to continue to run our programme. Please consider giving an optional donation (suggested £3 per ticket) to support this and future events at GZL.
Glasgow Zine Library (https://glasgowzinelibrary.com/) is an archive and library based in the Southside of Glasgow. It acts as a growing archive of self-published works, with an inviting and accessible area of reading in the space, as well as running a year-long programme of events to celebrate the ethos of Do It Yourself (DIY) culture.
ACCESS: The Library can accommodate wheelchair users, but unfortunately, we do not have a wheelchair accessible bathroom yet – we are currently applying for funding to make our bathroom accessible to everyone, and we will be making the needed adjustments as soon as we have the funds to do so. If you have any questions or requests about access, please contact glasgowzinelibrary@gmail.com
