somewhereto_Hatch A Plan: Edinburgh

If you’re 16-25 and looking for ideas and inspiration on what’s next in life, join us at the excellent Out of the Blue Drill Hall, 17:30 – 21:00.

You can get some quality, industry help you to kickstart your future, whatever stage you’re at, as well as taking part in skills and knowledge share with others at a similar point.

Featuring a panel discussion from creative and industry professionals, this event is the perfect opportunity for you to see how your talents, passions and interests could be turned into a business. 

Joining us for the panel discussion will be:

Rhubaba – artist-run organisation in Edinburgh that provides studio space for currently twenty-five artists across fifteen studios alongside an annual programme of exhibitions and events.

David MacKenzie – Graphic Designer based in Edinburgh, with a strong focus on Identity Design, Print and Illustration, David works with entrepreneurs, artists and small to medium sized businesses.

Topaz Pauls – “Artist, life model, life drawing coordinator, art teacher and sometime performance artist”


Throughout the evening there will be informal skills audit drop ins with Bridge2BusinessLocal Heroes, and Cassandra Barron from Voluntary Arts Scotland will be there to shareideas and tips for running an event in your community.

Fiona May – an enterprising Australian with a passion for publishing, design and all things exchange – will also be running two open source bases throughout the event, where we areencouraging those attending to bring along ideas, experiences, artworks, logos, graphic design or anything to do with your startup that you would like to get feedback on. Topics covered will include Marketing on a Shoestring & the In’s and Out’s of Running an Event.

We’ll also have two workshops on offer in Out of the Blueprint; #artcore’s riso print studio.

Fanzines: Led by writer & Editor of Artificial Womb, Ana Hine

Print/Promo: Led by illustrator, #artcore Apprentice and  Counterpoint journal’s Art Director,Bethany Thompson.
