Anarchist/Radical Bookfair and an after acoustic and a punk gig

8th September 2018 @ 11:00 am - 11:00 pm

Rebel Cat and Aardvark Production Collective along with the 1 in 12 Club are proud to announce the first anarchist/radical bookfair in many years from 11.00am to 4.00pm followed by an acoustic gig from 5.30pm to 8.10pm, and a Punk gig from 7.30pm to 11.30pm.

There will be stalls, films and some speakers/workshops.

Talks:

11.30am to 12.30 – Henry Raby – a talk about the nature of punk poetry.

This will be followed by a “poets corner” where various poets will give readings throughout the day in between the talks/workshops!

Rebel Cat Events/Aardvark Productions Collective/1 in 12 Club:

Rebel Cat a not for profit, grassroots, DIY promoter who puts on benefit gigs to raise awareness for social issues and demand a change.

Aardvark Productions Collective helps promote and support local promoters and bands in the West Yorkshire Area. We are not for profit and all money is invested back into local music.

1 in 12 Club started in 1981, evolving from the local Claimants Union. Originally the Club organised social events in various local pubs and clubs. The Club is 2 separate things; firstly and most importantly it is a group of people who work together to promote certain political ideals and social change; secondly it is a building housing a members social club.

Horn and Hoof Records:

Horn & Hoof Records is a distribution label from Manchester, we put on gigs and work with some of the best bands in the UK. They are also behind Rebel Cat in Manchester.

Trans Mission:

Trans Mission is a Trans and Gender Variant Information and Support group.
We run weekly groups in Bradford and monthly groups in Leeds and Doncaser for anyone on the trans spectrum or questioning their gender identity. We run monthly Trans Masculine only spaces, a Wellbeing Support group, a Walking group, a Lunchtime support group and a Peer Support Mentor Program.
We offer Advocacy, Trans and Gender Variance Awareness Training and endless cups of tea and biscuits.

Freedom News is an online anarchist resource for news, comment and activism. Founded in 1886, we moved fully online in 2014 and publish a quarterly paper.

Cubesville zines:

Cubesville will stock the long-running anarcho-absurdist punkzine One Way Ticket to Cubesville, together with the popular anarcho-veganzines such as The Vegan’s Guide to People Arguing with Vegans, The Victorian Vegan, and Veganarchy, Chaos and Destruction. Richard Cubesville has written and published zines since the 1980s and also co-hosts Manchester community radio show, Under the Pavement – bringing you DIY culture and grassroots activism every fortnight on ALLFM.

Haven Distribution:

Founded in 1996 and staffed only by volunteers, Haven Distribution supplies books to prisoners. We rely entirely on donations to fund our work. You can find us at any number of anarchist bookfairs across the country selling books and other goodies. We also have a rapidly growing online shop.
