Afropunk Exhibition and Zine Launch

3rd September 2018 @ 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm

AFROPUNK x 198 Contemporary Arts and Learning Present People. Art. Resistance.

People. Art. Resistance., is a zine and exhibition produced by AFROPUNK London and 198 Contemporary Arts and Learning. The zine challenges young creatives including commissioned artists from 198 CAL’s multidisciplinary art programme and open submission artists to respond to Black British resistance – past, present, and future. For source material artists explored both 198 CAL and Tate Britain archives as well as drawing inspiration from their own personal struggles, exploration of cultural roots and the broader context of global black resistance. Created over 4 weeks, with the support of the Arts Council of England, the zine will be distributed freely and the exhibition will be open to public at 198 Contemporary Arts and Learning during AFROPUNK London Festival September 3rd – 8th 2018.
