Submitting your work for sale

If you’d like me to consider selling your lovely work, I prefer to see a physical sample, which you can send to this address:

Vicky Stevenson
Pen Fight
PO Box 610
MANCHESTER
M12 0EN

Be sure to include the following information:

  • A little about yourself (a sentence or two is fine)
  • Your retail and wholesale prices (I usually expect a 50% wholesale discount, but this is negotiable)
  • How to contact you (email highly prefered)

Unfortunately I cannot return samples. I’m also the caretaker of Salford Zine Library – so feel free to include an extra copy to be donated to the library. If physical samples are not possible you can also email me a full digital copy to review.

For zines, I purchase up-front and pay via paypal, bank transfer, or with distro credit (your choice). Any items other than zines are on a case-by-case basis.

Note: if you get in touch and do not get a response from me please free to email me to give me a nudge about a month later. I try to let everyone know if I’d like to stock them or not but I’m just one-woman spinning lots of plates so sometimes I forget!!

Pen Fight Press

I also run a small zine press, called Pen Fight Press and can print and bind your work for you! I can currently print A4 in black and white or full colour. These are very DIY but we can chat about other printing options if you’d like something more fancy. I take care of distribution and you get a paid 40% of the profit from every copy sold (unless you’d like your work to be sold on a sliding scale basis, see below), usually paid annually.

I’m especially interested in putting out new work, or zines by makers from outside the UK. Email me if you’re interested – please include a full PDF or similar of your zine. I can also take physical flats by mail.

Distributing Free and Sliding Scale Zines

I can distribute your zines on a sliding scale (down to £0) basis in two ways:

  • You donating printed zines you may already have, to distribute on your behalf. Please feel to mail me copies of zines (or drop them off at a zine fair / event) at any time and let me know this is what you’d like me to do this.
  • Printing and distributing your zines via Pen Fight Press (above), if you do not need to receive payment from copies sold. Just let me know when you send me a copy of your zine.

What is Pen Fight Looking For?

  • Work from: women, queer/LGBTQIA+ people, People of Colour/global majority people, disabled, and working class folks.
  • Work on the following themes: mental health, self care, disability, gender, sexuality, women, feminism, politics, class, sex work, friendship & relationships, kink & fetish, plants, Palestine liberation, environmentalism & animal rights, veg*n food, punk & subcultures (but not from the lens of straight white men), DIY arts & crafts, how-to’s, and perzines.
  • What I’m not interested in: anything that involves racism, zionism, sexism, cultural appropriation, ableism, homo/bi/queer/ace-phobia, transphobia or cissexism, fatphobia, classism, anti-sex-worker etc. It’s also important to me that what Pen Fight sells is affordable, so I try to mostly stock zines that retail for less than £5-£10. Also as a rule I do not stock poetry, sorry!

Funds For Good Causes

Occasionally I can take on stock to sell/distribute which is for the purpose of raising funds for some kind of good cause (eg. grassroots charity or activist group, gender affirming crowdfunding etc) on a sale-or-return, no commission basis so 100% of sales go back to you – please email me to talk this over.
