Manchester Waterside Festival

Come and join us in the centre of Manchester for a weekend of waterside entertainment. Discover art, music and creative technology on the canal during this new 2-day fun filled, exploratory and innovative festival. Build an underwater robot, make a floating digital artwork, participate in a giant canal game. Enjoy the canal by boat or explore below the surface with virtual reality headsets and create a Zine about the canal.
Zines are comics and pamphlets made with a Do It Yourself ethos, their subjects ranging from football, to bands, to obsessions with cute red Scandinavian boats. Visitors will be able to browse Zines whilst hanging out at Pioneer Quay, bring a picnic blanket.
Salford Zine Library seeks to preserve and provide access to Zines from around the world, as well as promoting Zines and DIY culture through workshops, exhibitions and other events.
The Waterside Zine Library is a ‘Just turn up’ activity at Pioneer Quay. It’s on from 11am ’til 4pm on Saturday the 10th and Sunday the 11th of September.
