The Civic are delighted to announce the impending arrival of Freshly Pressed, a new print fair for South Yorkshire and the latest addition in the region’s calendar of markets for artists, artisans and lovers of all things hand-crafted.
The Civic’s Freshly Pressed will feature a cacophony of stalls selling contemporary art, illustration and photographic prints, printed textiles and homewares and the best of local published books and zines from Barnsley and around the region.
The fair will also offer entertainment in the form of live music, spoken word and poetry, printing demonstrations and children’s activities. Freshly Pressed will be free admission.
The print fair is organised by Jason White, The Civic’s Assistant Curator who comments, “we have already have a number of artists signed up for stalls which we are really excited about and we have also some of our live entertainment confirmed. Set to perform are members of the Barnsley Alternative Rock band Aztec Doll playing an exclusive acoustic set, three-piece band The Delicateers and poet Jethro Platts, with more to be announced at a later date.”
The Civic also announces two partners for the print fair. Support comes from Barnsley Museums’ literacy and poetry initiative Hear My Voice and also Barnsley College. Both will be showcasing their work on the day.
