DESCRIPTION:Part of: Home Young Creatives/ Persepolis \n\n\n\nZines are a flexible\, exciting medium and a powerful method of communication\, often raising awareness of topics outside of mainstream media. Following the screening of Persepolis\, Ingrid Francis\, curator at Salford Zine Library and Isobel Harrop\, author and artist\, will facilitate this practical zine making workshop inspired by the film’s themes. Participants will have the chance to create their own zine and explore techniques used to make visual stories. \nThis workshop is for those aged 16-19 and participants must attend the screening of Persepolis prior to the workshop.

DESCRIPTION:THE GRRRLIZM ZINE LAUNCH PARTY \nThe party will be held in March in celebration of Women’s History Month and the 100th year of women receiving partial voting rights! You can purchase our zine as well as artwork by female creatives on the night. \nProfits from the Grrrlizm Zine will be donated to the Pankhurst Trust and Women’s Aid\, who support survivors of domestic and sexual abuse. The Pankhurst centre is the former home of Emmeline Pankhurst and the birthplace of the Suffragette movement. It is an iconic building with political significance and memorabilia that is active in helping women in the community today. The centre is run by volunteers and supported through donations with no public funding. In celebration of the Suffragette’s accomplishments\, we aim to raise money and awareness of the centre as well as issues that still affect women today. \nThis is a FREE event and EVERYBODY is welcome! However\, we ask our guests to donate sanitary products that we can donate to Every Month\, a charity supporting homeless women. DESCRIPTION:Zine Club is back! For this edition we’ll be making a communal zine for women’s history month (more info TBA). \nZine Club is a space where anyone can read\, make zines\, collaborate\, be shown what a zine is and how to make one\, work on an existing project\, or ask more seasoned zine-makers any practical questions. \nJust come and have a nice hang out and a chat with us! Zines to read and materials will be provided\, but feel free to bring along anything you might want to use or donate. \nYou must be a Partisan Member to attend. Membership starts from as little as £1 a month\, or free to unwaged/carers/refugee. Become a member @ partisancollective.net/membership \nZine Club is FREE but donations will be very welcome to cover materials. \nAbout the Venue\nPartisan Collective is a community and arts venue\, located a 5 minute walk from Victoria station. \nAccess: Partisan is unfortunately not currently wheelchair accessible. Partisan are fundraising and preparing to make this happen in the future. Zine Club will take place on the 1st floor\, which is accessed via a flight of stairs. \nAll toilets are gender-neutral\, single-occupancy restrooms are available.
