DESCRIPTION:We’re gearing up for our very first event as a CIC and here’s everything you need to know. 💌 \nCentered around the theme ‘The Quiet Art of Femme Craft’\, our launch event is a community gathering where we celebrate creativity rooted in care\, slowness\, and shared experience. Inspired by traditional and contemporary femme craft practices\, from stitching and mending to journaling and handmade objects\, the event creates a welcoming space where making becomes a collective act. \nOur collaborators have been carefully curated to share different expressions of femme craft: from sustainable clothing and handmade jewellery to punch needle work and textile arts. The event is accompanied by a small workshop station and live music\, creating a warm atmosphere that encourages conversation\, connection\, and meaningful networking.\nThis is an invitation to slow down\, support independent creatives\, and experience craft as community. \nHosted by Open Salotto CIC – a community-led\, non-profit organisation – the gathering reflects our values of accessibility\, sustainability\, collaboration\, and mutual support. DESCRIPTION:Our Zine Fest is back this time at Dundas in Middlesbrough\,  with our amazing collective of zinemakers\, selling their home-brewed wares\, sharing their art\, photography\, poetry\, obsessions and loves in mini book-like publication form! \nEvery item is £5 or less and there’ll be an unusual art raffle\, community table and our usual zine library too! \nAs always we are supported by the fantastic people at Navigator North who are based in the Dundas\, and you’ll find creative ziney activities in their space alongside the event. \nWe try and be as accessible and inclusive as possible. DESCRIPTION:Join us at the Leeds City Museum for Make a Zine day. There will be a hive of free activity to celebrate all things zine. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nJoin us for Make a Zine day and use your creativity to share your ideas\, passion for community\, activism and self-expression through DIY artforms. Our friends Leeds Libraries will join us with the Leeds Zine Library\, offering mini zine tutorials. \nEast Street Arts will be bringing along their shiny riso printer\, to create a collective Leeds City Museum Zine. \nWith artist talks and workshops to join in on\, and a selection of zine stall holders to peruse their work\, get your first zines or add to your existing collections and become a part of a DIY ethos that celebrates the voices of the marginalised\, niche and softly spoken to take up space. \nWe will also be collecting zines on the theme of Activism to be displayed in our forthcoming Communities Exhibition at Leeds City Museum. \nSpecial workshops\nSo\, You Wanna Sell Your Comics? – 11.30am – 1pm. \nDo It Yourself Zine Printing with Megan Dobbyn – 12pm – 1pm\, 2pm – 3pm.
