SUMMARY:Sapphic Writers Zine Launch: Meet Me At Lesbos
DESCRIPTION:Book tickets here \nPlease note: this event will be held online using Zoom \nJoin the Sapphic Writers Collective for a night of performances to celebrate the launch of their new zine: Meet Me At Lesbos. \nIn this issue\, we’re thinking about reunion. For some of us\, the prospect of borders re-opening and travel restrictions easing is holding open the prospect of seeing loved ones for the first time in many months. We also live in a world scarred by borders and walls that actively prevent innumerable reunions from happening\, a fact that has only been exacerbated by the pandemic. Come along and hear all about the winter stories from our incredible community. \nPlease note: this event will be recorded\, and content from the recording may be shared publicly online by Sapphic Writers and their followers for promotional purposes.

You may submit your SRZF creation to be archived in the library’s special collections. \nSubmitted zines will be made into a collective zine of 2020 memories! \nYou may submit in two ways: \n\nScan your zine or save a digital copy of your zine and upload to the Sonoma Responds portal.\nSign the Zine donation form and send your zine through the mail to:\nSR Zine Fest\nPO Box 9635\nSanta Rosa\, CA 95405\n\nDigital and physical submissions agree to the Sonoma Responds Terms and Conditions. \nEmail the Sonoma Responds team with questions about archiving your zines\, sonomaresponds@sonomalibrary.org

DESCRIPTION:Join us on 30 April from 6 – 8 pm\, alongside Beecroft Art Gallery’s This Is What An Essex Girl Looks Like exhibition\, to create our own self-published zines. SUMMARY:QUARANZINE FEST 2020! (online)
DESCRIPTION:Quaranzine Fest 2020 ~ a viral safe-space! | APRIL 4th & 5th 2020 | #quaranzinefest \nInoculate against boredom! Self-quarantine is not exciting! Start stockpiling zines before panic buying starts! \nQuaranzine Fest is a (cough…) viral concept to connect zine makers and patrons in this turbulent time of social distancing. In the face of Federal Government ineptitude\, callousness\, and lack of empathy\, the DIY community has come together to… not come together. As we work in solidarity to honor the social contract and flatten the curve\, many of us in the international zine\, art book\, and DIY community have been dramatically impacted by the closures of the art book fairs and zine fests where we connect with each other\, discover exciting new work\, and (for us vendors) make part of our living. \nQuaranzine Fest is simple. Post your work on the platform of your choice April 4th and 5th with the hashtag #quaranzinefest – no submission process\, no selection process\, no fees\, no leaders\, no volunteers\, no building\, no table\, no limit on vendors\, no fire code restrictions\, no peanut butter fingers touching your zines. \nSee more: https://ispress.co/event/quaranzine-fest-2020/

SUMMARY:TV Will Break Your Heart: TV Fanzine Workshop
DESCRIPTION:“With film you’re in and you’re out and you go on with your life. TV is like a long relationship that ends abruptly or wistfully. One way or another\, TV will break your heart.” – David Bordwell \nIt’s time to put all those hours spent watching Netflix to good use. We know you’ve got ~strong feelings~ about TV shows – so do we. Come and gather with other TVphiles and get those feelings out of your head and into a zine!! \nSome potential zine titles to get you inspired:\n-why’d they cancel Firefly??\n-an ode to the sassy commentator on Come Dine With Me\n-the impeccable morality of Captain Jean Luc Picard\n-Loving Love Island \nWe offer many free events throughout the year\, but we rely on donations to continue to run our programme. Please consider giving an optional donation (suggested £3 per ticket) to support this and future events at GZL. \n\n\n\n\nClick here to book a free ticket\n\n\n\n\nGlasgow Zine Library (https://glasgowzinelibrary.com/) is an archive and library based in the Southside of Glasgow. It acts as a growing archive of self-published works\, with an inviting and accessible area of reading in the space\, as well as running a year-long programme of events to celebrate the ethos of Do It Yourself (DIY) culture. \nACCESS: The Library can accommodate wheelchair users\, but unfortunately\, we do not have a wheelchair accessible bathroom yet – we are currently applying for funding to make our bathroom accessible to everyone\, and we will be making the needed adjustments as soon as we have the funds to do so. If you have any questions or requests about access\, please contact glasgowzinelibrary@gmail.com
