DESCRIPTION:We welcome back Laydeez do Comics for their March meeting\, with guests Corrine Pearlman and One Beat Zines. \nLaydeez do Comics is a unique graphic novel forum with a focus on comic works based on life narrative\, the drama of the domestic and the everyday – and we’re delighted to be hosting their London sessions during our Comix Creatrix: 100 Women Making Comics exhibition. \nCorrine Pearlman is an illustrator\, comics creator\, and Creative Director of independent publisher Myriad Editions. She has produced editorial comics for charities\, a regular strip for the Jewish Quarterly\, and is a Partner in Comic Company\, which produces comics-illustrated health information. \nJulia Scheele and Sarah Broadhurst run One Beat Zines\, a London-based feminist zine-making collective and distributor that aims to distribute cheap-and-cheerful zines by people with something to say\, in a wide variety of forms including comics\, essays\, photography\, poetry\, fiction\, and collage.
