DESCRIPTION:Zines are small\, self-made mini magazines that can be about anything – from what you did last week\, to your personal\, political and social life. \nIn the 1990s\, women involved in the punk rock scene formed feminist zine collectives in order to publish and share their experiences of prejudice and discrimination. At GWL we have thousands of fabulous zines to inspire all women. \nAt this workshop for women of colour we will explore our own experiences of racism\, learn about the historical use of zines within social activism\, and work together to create our own unique zine that challenges racism and sexism in Scotland. \nThis workshop is FREE but space is limited so booking is required – please reserve your place using the form below. \nThis workshop is part of our In Her Shoes project. DESCRIPTION:Join us to mark the launch of the zine\, celebrate female creativity and raise funds for a worthy cause!\nAlong with the opportunity to mingle with some creative\, like-minded people\, come along to pick up a copy of the zine\, enter our (rather incredible) raffle\, jazz up your nails (if you fancy) and eat cake – all in the name of celebrating creativity\, and raising funds for Inkwell Arts along the way. \nFeaturing a pop-up bar from Archie’s Bar and Kitchen – with 50p from all drinks going towards our Inkwell funraising pot! \nAbout the Kvinde Zine\nThe zine looks at the many different facets of female creativity\, and features a moving photo essay\, a hard-hitting piece on the very meaning of feminism\, as well as some incredible illustration work and lighter narrative pieces. In short\, we’re celebrating female creativity\, with the end goal of raising money for a very worthy cause. \nAbout Inkwell Arts\nInkwell Arts is a safe\, dedicated arts space that enriches lives through creativity\, and promoting positive mental health.
