DESCRIPTION:Queer Zine Library is a diy roaming library celebrating LGBTQIA radical self-publishing. The zine library travels across the UK taking up residency in community spaces. \nIf you are interested in getting involved with Queer Zine Library and want to learn more about cataloguing then get involved! \nCataloguing is a way for new readers to discover zines in our collections and to track where those zines are currently on display. All cataloguing is carried out by QZL volunteers and we are hosting our very first public cataloguing party inviting queer zine makers and queer zine readers to contribute and develop the way we catalogue. \nEveryone is welcome regardless of experience. No previous knowledge of cataloguing is necessary\, just a passion for queer zines! We want the queer community to challenge ideas of cataloguing and help us build a collective approach to making the library accessible. There will be a chance to spend time with the amazing zines in our library collections\, learn the basics of cataloguing from our volunteers\, as well as contribute to our collective cataloguing which is always changing and growing. \nSpaces are limited and booking is essential. DESCRIPTION:For one night and one night only… Grrrl Groannn are hosting their first physical event for the launch of their zine issue 3. \nThe launch will be showcasing 3 hot local music acts alongside an immersive photography exhibition of selected prints from Grrrl Groannn’s infamous live music photo collection – these prints will also be up for sale too. \nZine 3 is Grrrl Groannn”s biggest yet – featuring the likes of: Big Joanie\, Sofa King\, Camp Cope\, Body/Head\, Venus\, Thyla\, Village Bully\, Calva Louise\, Hinds\, Graywave\, Dilly Dally\, Drahla\, Siksa\, Aufbau Principle\, and Pinky Pinky. \nWe hope you can join us to celebrate the representation of womxn in the music industry\, from local to global scenes\, and to give a big ‘fuck you’ to patriarchal attitudes that are still currently existing in all areas of the music industry. \nOn 27/11/2019\, Geoff Ellis (director of TRNSMT’s festival had this to say in regards to their 2020 line-up: “We’d love there to be a higher representation of females but there isn’t\, certainly on the acts we’re announcing today. It will be a while until there’s a 50/50 balance. That’s definitely several years ahead for any major festival to achieve because there’s far\, far less female artists. We need to get more females picking up guitars\, forming bands\, playing in bands”. \nWhat a dickhead. This is why we need consistent support for events and initiatives like our own to combat attitudes such as these\, and move closer towards gender equality.

DESCRIPTION:Weirdo Zine Fest is a self-publishing fair celebrating DIY cultural production by radical and marginalised people. Weirdo Zine Fest has previously taken place in partnership with DIY Space for London\, the National Trust and Leeds Libraries. This year we’re returning to London as part of Science Gallery London’s ON EDGE season to run an edition of the fair which focuses on zines exploring anxiety! \nFor this edition of the fair\, preference for tables goes to anyone who has experience of anxiety\, but as always women\, queers\, POC\, disabled people\, trans people\, fat people\, sex workers and anyone who is otherwise marginalised are particularly encouraged to apply! \nThe event will showcase the work of 20-30 stallholders and other exciting things happening too (details tbc!). Stallholders will be announced in early October. \nInterested in tabling? Tables are free!
