SUMMARY:Your Body Is Not Your Own: Dream Nails Vinyl + Zine Launch
DESCRIPTION:Join Dream Nails for a night of feminist punk and zine readings on reproductive justice\, featuring support band Brosephine! \nWe’re releasing a limited edition double A-side vinyl of “Vagina Police”/ “Fascism is Coming” on 7th February with Everything Sucks Music\, and 100% of the physical and digital proceeds are going to Abortion Support Network. \nThe record is accompanied by a zine on reproductive justice\, written by Dream Nails friends and fans. This zine will also be available on the night separately. As a feminist DIY band with activism at its core\, we’ve made the decision to use this release as a way to generate awareness and support for reproductive justice issues that extend far beyond abortion. \nReproductive justice affects us all in so many different ways\, across gender\, sexuality\, race\, class\, ability and immigration status – it’s about the right to have or not have a child\, the right to parent\, and the right to access services and resources that enable your choices. \nSo come and join us on the 7th\, in celebration of reproductive justice and solidarity. Pre-order information available soon!

SUMMARY:Grrrl Groannn Zine 3 Launch
DESCRIPTION:For one night and one night only… Grrrl Groannn are hosting their first physical event for the launch of their zine issue 3. \nThe launch will be showcasing 3 hot local music acts alongside an immersive photography exhibition of selected prints from Grrrl Groannn’s infamous live music photo collection – these prints will also be up for sale too. \nZine 3 is Grrrl Groannn”s biggest yet – featuring the likes of: Big Joanie\, Sofa King\, Camp Cope\, Body/Head\, Venus\, Thyla\, Village Bully\, Calva Louise\, Hinds\, Graywave\, Dilly Dally\, Drahla\, Siksa\, Aufbau Principle\, and Pinky Pinky. \nWe hope you can join us to celebrate the representation of womxn in the music industry\, from local to global scenes\, and to give a big ‘fuck you’ to patriarchal attitudes that are still currently existing in all areas of the music industry. \nOn 27/11/2019\, Geoff Ellis (director of TRNSMT’s festival had this to say in regards to their 2020 line-up: “We’d love there to be a higher representation of females but there isn’t\, certainly on the acts we’re announcing today. It will be a while until there’s a 50/50 balance. That’s definitely several years ahead for any major festival to achieve because there’s far\, far less female artists. We need to get more females picking up guitars\, forming bands\, playing in bands”. \nWhat a dickhead. This is why we need consistent support for events and initiatives like our own to combat attitudes such as these\, and move closer towards gender equality.

SUMMARY:Replay Zine Launch
DESCRIPTION:“Replay” is a limited print fan-zine about the combination of music and gaming. With articles about Jet Set Radio\, K/DA\, an interview with Azikazin Magic World\, and fan illustrations throughout\, this mixed media zine is bound to have something for everyone. Replay was created by Jodie McFadyen and has two other contributors: editor Rico Ibrahim of ANRI (a zine about cultural preservation and sharing)\, and illustrations by Glasgow-based tattoo artist and illustrator Senna Bogan. \nThis launch party is a chance to meet other people with an interest in gaming and the creative outputs that occur alongside it. We have a set from Glasgow-based DJ and producer Rahul.mp3. who runs an up-and-coming clubbing collective called “Scandal” focusing on Baile Funk\, Bhangra\, Jersey Club and HipHop. Rahul will be showcasing a gaming themed set using some favourite mentions from Replay alongside some other material more commonly seen at Scandal. \nThere will be free copies of Replay available at the launch\, on a first-come\, first-serve basis. The launch schedule includes a quick walkthrough by Jodie once people start to arrive\, and then we will transition into a DJ set. Come along\, read some\, dance some\, and chat! \nFollow us on Instagram @replayzine for some sneak peaks. \n!Attendees must be over the age of 18!

SUMMARY:The Quiet Art of Femme Craft
DESCRIPTION:We’re gearing up for our very first event as a CIC and here’s everything you need to know. 💌 \nCentered around the theme ‘The Quiet Art of Femme Craft’\, our launch event is a community gathering where we celebrate creativity rooted in care\, slowness\, and shared experience. Inspired by traditional and contemporary femme craft practices\, from stitching and mending to journaling and handmade objects\, the event creates a welcoming space where making becomes a collective act. \nOur collaborators have been carefully curated to share different expressions of femme craft: from sustainable clothing and handmade jewellery to punch needle work and textile arts. The event is accompanied by a small workshop station and live music\, creating a warm atmosphere that encourages conversation\, connection\, and meaningful networking.\nThis is an invitation to slow down\, support independent creatives\, and experience craft as community. \nHosted by Open Salotto CIC – a community-led\, non-profit organisation – the gathering reflects our values of accessibility\, sustainability\, collaboration\, and mutual support. We believe creativity should be shared\, not gatekept\, and that community spaces should feel inclusive and creative. \nWhat to expect: \n-Live Music featuring @lauradiaforever and @danny_hriley\n-Zine Launch in collaboration with @thenewjaneration and @anna.kuglar\n-Stalls featuring @byely_atelier @bullnchain and @creativeweirdo_\n-Workshop hosted by @_tayoko_sen_ \nPoster Designed by @emmarstudio \nMade possible by an incredible team of independent creative and Open Salotto CIC directors @stylestoriesbymj and @_tayoko_sen_
