DESCRIPTION:We will be holding a VIRTUAL Swansea Zine Fest on the original zine fest date\, Saturday 9th May 2020! \nThe event will take place on this page and be shared across our other social media. The day will involve workshops\, crafting and zine reviews as well as our usual open mic session – more info will be posted here soon\, along with an itinerary for the day. \nWe would like to invite you to get involved! We are looking for: \n– Pitches for videos and blogs about anything to do with zines and self-publishing. This could be reviews of your favourite zines\, zine history\, why you like zines\, particular kinds of zines like zines\, or a how-to video demonstrating a particular element of zine making. \n– Zine readings. Feel free to go ahead and record a maximum of five minute video of you reading your work and we will publish it on the day as part of our open mic segment. \n– Anything else! If you have an idea about how you want to get involved in the virtual zine fest that we haven’t thought about just let us know and we’ll see if it can work! \nWe are accepting content from anyone in the zine community\, so feel free to spread this message to other zinester and self-publishing friends! \nThe deadline for content is 30th April 2020 – please send your ideas\, blogs\, and videos to swanseazinefest@gmail.com!

DESCRIPTION:Weirdo Zine Fest is a self-publishing fair celebrating DIY cultural production by radical and marginalised people. Preference for tables goes to women\, queers\, people of colour\, disabled people\, trans people\, fat people\, sex workers and anyone who is otherwise marginalised. We also encourage applications from new and first timer zinesters! \nThis year there will be a special edition of Weirdo Zine Fest in London as part of Science Gallery London’s GENDERS: Shaping and Breaking the Binary season (https://london.sciencegallery.com/seasons/genders/exhibition).
