DESCRIPTION:Learn to make your very own one-sheet wonder zine and explore the themes of home\, belongingness\, familiarity\, migration and adaptation through collage\, illustration\, poetry\, mark making and writing. \nYou can also contribute towards the second issue of Longing For Home zine\, which will be released at a later date. \nThis free workshop is run by Saffa Khan – an illustrator and print maker\, exploring narratives on the themes of home\, identity\, culture\, race and mental health\, presented via self-published printed matter. DESCRIPTION:A free zine making workshop as part of the LEAP festival fortnight exploring and celebrating LGBTQI experiences in sport. \nJoin the Edinburgh Zine Library to create zines\, share your experiences of sport\, and explore LGBTQI and human rights issues. \nMake a fanzine about your favourite LGBTQI players! Shout out about the sport you love! Explore your inexplicable teenage obsession with Bend It Like Beckham! This is great chance to explore and share your experiences\, positive\, negative or some complicated mix of the two\, in a supportive and creative environment. \nWe’ll have zines from the collection for you to read for inspiration and during the workshop we’ll show you how to make your own mini-zine\, and work together to produce a collaborative zine you can take home with you. All materials are provided. \nThis event is part of the LEAP Sports Scotland festival fortnight. \nThe George Washington Browne room is on the lower floor of the Central Library. There is a lift with level access. If you have any questions about the accessibility of the room\, or are anxious about attending and want to get in touch\, contact us at edinburghzinelibrary@gmail.com \nThis event is run by and for members of the LGBTQI community – we won’t be asking for proof on the door\, but please be a good ally and if you’re not LGBTQI make space for members of this community to attend. \nChildren and young people under 16 who want to attend need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
