Leeds Zine Fair 2023

“OK! We have set the date for LEEDS ZINE FAIR 2023! 7th October at the Wonderful @clayleeds

Get it in your diaries and keep an eye out for more info in the coming months x”

Leeds Zine Fair 2022

We are very happy to welcome you to Leeds Zine Fair (our first since 2018) on 24th September 2022!  It’ll run from 11am to 5pm.  This year we’re gonna be at CLAY (Centre For Live Arts Yorkshire), 2 Regent St, LS2 7QA.

It’s a really special place and we’re really happy to be holding the fair there.

Applications for stalls are now closed!

Thanks so much to everyone who applied!  If you haven’t heard back from us by now about your application, please do email us, but also check your spam / junk email to see if our response has landed there.

What to expect on the day

  • 40 stalls of independent zine and print makers and small press publishers – we’ll be sharing info on our stallholders on our instagram so keep an eye out there!
  • We’ll be making a Zine in a Day aka ZIAD – live printing from our beautiful RZ riso printer. Come and draw or make a piece of art and have it riso printed into a collaborative zine to take home. First timers especially encouraged.
  • Live badge making and zine making workshops.
  • Inspiring Zine documentary showing at intervals thorough the day.

Access Information

There is information on this page of their website about accessibility at the venue.

“It has a single step access to a single door that opens into the venue. The door is 32 inches wide. We have a metal ramp for the step; front of house staff will put this out upon request.

We have 2 gender-neutral toilets that are down a flight of stairs that is 12 steps. Unfortunately, there is no lift in our building. The rest of the building is on one floor. Wherever possible, with our limited budgets, we hire in an accessible toilet (portaloo).”

The portaloo that they mention will be there on the day of the fair – it is in a (won’t be being used) loading area that you need to pass through to get to the other toilets, so is still a bit removed from the populated areas & has that sense of privacy.

Zineophilia Social Club at Kapow Coffee

Zineophilia Social Club returns for an evening of zine making and art socialising. Learn how to fold paper into self published books, and then draw, collage, write, and print the contents. Meet like minded zine people, work on projects together, make new friends, all at Kapow! Coffee in the Thorntons Arcade Leeds.

All materials provided, this is a pay as you feel event.

4nineteen Zine Launch Party (Vol 1)

We have a sick new event coming right at you. After completing our first zine we are so excited to invite you to our event to celebrate!

What we have in store for you is a chance to get a copy of the zine, poetry readings, live music, art stalls, merch and just a bloody swell ol’ time.

Our friends at Gross Studio will be having a stall and the very talented Autosuggestion and Spilt Milk will be providing us with some amazing music!

This is a FREE event so anyone can come along.

However we will have a pay-as-you-feel jar with a suggested donation of £3. This will go towards covering the costs of the event, and printing a well as any cut projects.

Please do come along, and have a grand time celebrating with us!

Zine-O-Philia: The Zine Social Club

Well if you answered yes to any of the above come along to ZINE-O-PHILIA and share in the love of Print. It’s an opportunity to hang out and meet like minded people who love creativity, have a drink and listen to some music. But its not just that, you can also:

SHARE: Bring along examples of Your work and projects you are working on and get input, insight, critique, or just people to go “Ooh” at it.

CREATE: We will have making materials, paper, a long stapler, scissors, etc for you to make a zine right there and then.

READ: Look at our growing Zine Library, or donate some of your own so people can read your stuff.

COLLABORATE: Meet people who want to do the same things you do, and start your own zine, or disto, or whatever!

THIS IS A PAY AS YOU FEEL EVENT, as we will be asking for donations towards the use of the venue. It’s a nice venue. Lots of plants.
