Zine-making Workshop with Ergi Press
Kate (she/her) and Imogen (she/her) from Ergi Press will be talking about their experiences in setting up a publishing house and making and distributing their regular zine. The evening will be split into a talk and then an informal, guided zine-making session where everyone will be welcomed to write, draw and create a mini zine themselves. A cosy and casual evening, perfect for students new to York and those hoping to explore the York queer community.
Ergi Press are a publishing house founded in 2021 by York St John Publishing MA students. The press focuses on promoting and uplifting work by LGBTQ+ writers and artists, providing a space to spotlight this work without barriers of themes or publishing history. Their regular zine has a rolling submissions window, welcoming prose, poetry and artwork. Their upcoming debut anthology, Trickster, is set for publication by the end of 2022.

Join a friendly bunch of zine lovers at our monthly zine socials!
Hang out, make some zines and get creative! Some basic materials will be provided but feel free to bring along some paper / favourite stationery / art materials you want to play with. You can work on your own projects or join in one of the evenings zine challenges.
There will be a mini zine library to look through for inspiration and feel free to bring some of your zines to share with the group too! If you’ve never made a zine before don’t be shy, it’s a great way to express yourself and share your thoughts with the world and is super fun and easy.
Self publishing is for everyone and all are welcome! Even if you just want to sit and chat with us and eat crisps!!

York Zine Fest is back for a very merry Festive Edition!!
Join us for 40+ zine stalls, craft workshops, browse through the zine library, take some piccies in the Grotto and fill up on mince pies and mulled wine!
Saturday 8th December at The Crescent, York – 12-4pm – free entry!
Applications are now open, email yorkzinefest@gmail.com with your details and links to your work. Applications close 31st October. Stalls are £10.
